Want to be able to answer the door from wherever you are? Let us install a video doorbell and connect it to your wifi. Great security and peace of mind.
Old Engineer provides professional video doorbell installation throughout the Raleigh-Durham area at a price that makes sense. See who’s at the door from your phone, talk to the delivery driver from the office, keep an eye on packages, and have a recorded history of everyone who’s come to your door. It’s one of the simplest security upgrades a home can get.
Our video doorbell installation covers the whole job:
We install all the major brands including Ring, Google Nest, Arlo, Eufy, and Blink, both wired models and battery-powered models.
Old Engineer isn’t a big franchise with big franchise prices. We’re experienced, detail-oriented professionals who believe a doorbell upgrade shouldn’t cost a fortune. You get careful workmanship, straightforward pricing, and someone who makes sure the camera, the chime, and the app all actually work before leaving.
Please note: we install video doorbells where existing doorbell wiring is in place, or battery models that need no wiring at all.
We provide video doorbell installation in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Garner, Holly Springs, and surrounding Triangle communities.
Installation is quick and affordable, far less than a full security company visit. Contact us with the doorbell model (or the one you’re considering) for a quick quote.
Most installations take about an hour, including wiring, wifi setup, chime configuration, and motion zone adjustment.
If you have existing doorbell wiring, wired is usually better: no charging, more reliable, and it can ring your indoor chime. Battery models are great when there’s no wiring at the door. We’ll tell you which fits your house.
In most cases yes. Wired doorbells typically work with your existing chime, and battery models can use a plug-in chime so you still hear the bell inside.
The doorbell works without one, including live view and talking to visitors. Subscriptions mostly add cloud storage of recorded clips. Some brands like Eufy store video locally with no fee, and we can steer you that way if avoiding a subscription matters to you.
The button still rings a wired chime, but remote viewing and recording need the wifi connection. Everything picks back up automatically once your connection returns.
Absolutely, and they’re a great pair: see who’s at the door, then unlock it from your phone. Check out our electronic door lock installation page, and ask about doing both in one visit.
