iceBOX: what is you ask? Well many years ago I got asked by a friend if I could build a prototype In-car-Entertainment (ice) Xbox case from scratch.
The criteria for the build was thus:
1-The case had to have a smaller footprint than the original Xbox
2-The case had to be thinner than an Xbox
3-The case had to be robust.
4-The case would not use a dvd drive, it would use a large hdd.
5-The unit would run from a 12volt D.C car supply.
...It all worked a treat, I even saw it all set up in his car at one stage, the psu was a work of art and very efficient!
The following is a short op-by-op explanation of the project...
1st operation (op 1) was to take a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminium plate, set it up on the vertical milling machine to mill out a series vent holes on what would become the case top panel.
...see op 2, 3, 4 etc.....the total time for the build was summat like 50hrs, spread over 2 weeks!
