E3 2001-2002 Items

Promotional E3 Xbox items from 2001 and 2002:

In the foreground are a pair of EPKs (electronic press kits) and an official press pass used to gain access to the Xbox marketing department.

The 'green' disc is all Xbox related, loads of info dating back to 2000.

The interesting point with these discs is that they were 'manually' burnt on Microsoft thermal labelled 'Mitsui' CD-Rs! In other words they were produced in low numbers, basically as a 'last minute idea' before the show. They didn't have the time to have them 'pressed' as per the usual mass produced methods!

As well as info on the released launch titles, it gives details on a couple of games that never saw the light of day, even though they were happily being developed during May 2001. :)

The 'red' disc has information on 2001 Microsoft PC titles.

To the right of the picture is a Betacam 2001 Xbox promotional video showing the 'Alpha Dev Kit' version of Halo running during early May 2001!

In the background is an E3 2002 promotional DVD for the Xbox (notice how 'pressed' DVD media has replaced the CD-Rs from the previous year).
